35 Years: Much Beyond Academics: Summary of Memoirs of the Center for Gender Studies of INTEC.

This work presents the trajectory, contributions, and commitment of the Gender Studies Center (CEG) of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), an institution that for more than three decades has promoted research, teaching, and social action to advance women’s rights and gender equality in the Dominican Republic. From a perspective grounded in human rights, diversity, and equity, the Center has contributed to knowledge production, academic development, and initiatives aimed at reducing gender gaps in areas such as employment, political participation, education, and health.
The work also highlights efforts to analyze and make visible issues affecting women, including gender-based violence, labor discrimination, sexual and reproductive rights, and social inequalities. Through collaboration among academia, social movements, and public policy, the publication presents research, educational proposals, and community initiatives aimed at strengthening women’s empowerment and promoting the construction of a more just, inclusive, and equitable society.
