The Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), throughout its 50 years of history, has been committed to social development and improving the quality of life in the Dominican Republic. As a private, non-profit university, INTEC promotes higher education, research and scientific dissemination, with special attention to economic, social, environmental and technological issues. This approach has turned the institution into a space for knowledge and debate on crucial issues for the country, maintaining a position of academic independence and constructive collaboration in agriculture.
One of INTEC's priority axes is the management of natural resources and climate change. To this end, the university has doctoral programs and specialized centers such as the Center for Environmental Studies and Management (CEGA) and the Climate Change and Resilience Observatory (OCCR). Within the framework of the SEMPER event, the institution reaffirmed its commitment to the efficient management of water in the country, presenting a document that integrates perspectives of experts and professors in the search for a "Pact for Water 2021-2036." INTEC hopes that this contribution will promote science-based public policies to foster sustainable development in the Dominican Republic.
